March Book Stats

Books Read:  17
Books Acquired:  177

Most Read Genre: Contemporary Romance = 12
(Three of those twelve I have classified as Contemporary Romance/Sports)

Once again, my favorite book this month was written by Nicole Edwards.  As I told you last month, I’m obsessed with the characters she creates.  I read FIVE of her books in March!  My favorite of those was Harmless.  It’s part of the Pier 70 series70 series.  I also read Speechless during the month and it was actually my favorite until this one came along.  I highly recommend this series, especially if you’re a fan of M/M contemporary romance.

Another favorite of the month was by a new to me author, a book that has been on my TBR list for a very long time.  Me Before You by JoJo Moyes.  So good!

Other favorites from March come from a few of my favorite/go-to authors.  Just What I Needed by Lorelei James, Rules of Contact by Jaci Burton,  and Tough Luck Hero by Maisey Yates.  Among other Maisey Yates books and, of course, all those Nicole Edwards books.

I read 4 paperback books in March, all the rest were on my Kindle.  Here’s a breakdown of where I got them all from:

Kindle Lending Library = 1
Net Galley = 2
Public Library = 4
MCL = 3
Amazon (free download) = 2
Amazon (purchased) = 4
ARC (from author) = 1

There were 10 different authors in the mix last month.  Nicole Edwards was the most read with 5 books so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that 3 of the books I read were M/M romance with the rest being M/F.  I had one other new to me author besides JoJoy Moyes and that was Nicole Helm.  I got her book So Wrong It Must Be Right from Net Galley.

Obviously, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was the oldest book I read (1876) with The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn close behind (1884).

My page count was a bit down from February with 5,229 pages being read in March.  The shortest was Tom Sawyer with only 140 pages (though it felt much longer!).  The longest was Rush by Nicole Edwards with 539 pages.

The average star rating I gave the books I read in March was about the same as that of February.  Both were 3.8 giver or take a few hundredths.  I had more 5 star books in March, but also more 2 star books.  All in all, it was a great reading month.

Three of the books I acquired in March were actually read in March; Rush, Kaufman, and Harmless.  All by Nicole Edwards.

Total books actually purchased in March = 3 (All from Amazon with 2 of the 3 read in March)

Total money spent on books in March = $11.97

Because some of the books I read in March were purchased before March, I actually spent $13.96 on books read.  Not bad.

I got 136 of the 177 books acquired through the links in my daily Book Bub email.  Of course, I didn’t pass up my Kindle First book for March.  I chose The Practice House by Laura McNeal.  I got 13 free books following links in the Selena Kitt newsletter Just Add Spice.  As you know, once you show an interest on any ads that pop up in your Facebook feed you get more and more adds for same or similar products.  So, my FB feed has been lousy with book ads.  I got 5 free books in March by following those ads to Amazon Kindle books.  Often following those links leads to seeing more free books suggested by Amazon, I added an additional 12 books following a rabbit hole of books.  Six books came from Net Galley and one ARC directly from the author.

Here’s a breakdown of March’s books by genre:
