I have loved getting to know the Donnelly’s through the last few books of this series.  And, from what I can tell, this was the end of the series.  But don’t despair!  There is a whole new series this author has started spinning off from the winery in this book.  Yay!

We’ve met both Sabrina and Liam in previous books and I’ve been looking forward to getting their story.  I was not disappointed.  Maisey Yates is just so good at writing chemistry.  I always get immediately drawn into her stories and the relationships she creates. The things these two have been through forced them both to grow up earlier than they should have had to, but in different ways.  Watching them both realize what the other had gone through over the years and reconcile that with their preconceived ideas was amazing to see.

In every one of the last four books in this series, the Donnelly brothers have some kind of airing of grievances where a bit more of their messed up childhoods came to light.  Things each of the brothers didn’t know about the others.  Each time those scenes gutted me.  This time, Liam being the last of the brothers to get his story, was the culmination of it all.  My goodness there is a ton of emotions in this book.  But where the author brought out my tears in those scenes, she brought out my smiles in the last chapter.  In a way it’s a wrap up of all the brothers and their ladies have gone through and it’s beautiful.

I love all the imagery of the now booming Copper Ridge during Christmas.  The carolers, decorations, storefronts, the big tree.  I love it all.  It really made me realize the changes the little town has gone through since the series started.

We get to know the people at the winery even more in this book and I cannot wait to get started on the Gold Valley series to see where they all end up.  I cannot get enough of this author’s writing.
