Book Club???

Alrighty, seems I forgot to give a book club update after my last meeting.  I’m not going to lie.  I’ve been busy and that particular book club ended up being a bit different than the norm.  As we got closer to the date both Tina and Linda had to back out.  (Tina was in California visiting my little sister and her family, including the twins I haven’t met yet myself.)

3 year old Gloria with her brother Bennett and sister Lorelai who were born in September

Because the date was just a couple of weeks after my mother-in-law moved out and I was still dealing with her things at my house, cleaning, getting her settled, etc. I asked if the rest of the ladies would mind going to National Coney Island for lunch instead of meeting at my house.  Everyone was great with that and it worked out perfectly.

Since the book we read was one I had already read and reviewed here, A List of Cages by Robin Roe, I don’t have a lot to add here.  There were no strong opinions that were any different from mine.  We hadn’t really seen each other since Christmas so we spent hours catching up on more than just our views on this book.

For those that follow along, I’m really popping in here to give you the information on our next book and book club date.  We are reading The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think, and How You Vote by Sharyl Attkisson.  (Note: this is also sometimes listed as The Smear: How the Secret Art of Character Assassination Controls What You Think, What You Read, and How You Vote.)  We’ll be meeting on Saturday, March 10 so I’ll be stopping in shortly after that the give a recap and my review on this book.

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.
