Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Loved With Fewer Than 2000 ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

This week’s topic is Books I Loved With Fewer Than 2000 Ratings on Goodreads.  It was surprising to me to find that some of these books I’m going to share have less than 2000 ratings.  Because I’ve read way more under 2000 ratings books than I thought, I’m actually listing 15 this week.  I think all of these books deserve some recognition. I’m going to order my list with the least ratings to the most so I’m sure those with low numbers get seen first.  With the first 10 I’ll even add some thoughts. Please consider checking one of these wonderful books out asap.

Fumbling and Soaring
by Gina Miller-Meinema
ratings on Goodreads = 2
average star rating = 5
My star rating = 5

As I mention in my review of this book, the author is my big sister.  She’s a wonderful human as well as a phenomenal writer.  I know this seems like favoritism, but it really is an inspiring non-fiction story.

Dream Lover
(Dreams Come True book #3)
by Stacey Keith
ratings on Goodreads = 26
average star rating = 3.85
my star rating = 4.5

I absolutely love this whole series, but Dream Lover is my favorite. It’s with bated breath that I await Ms. Keith’s next book. She’s always pushing the boundaries and throwing the romance norms out the window…in a good way.

38198214

Cowboy SEAL Redemption
(Navy SEAL Cowboys book #2)
by Nicole Helm
ratings on Goodreads = 167
average star rating = 4.31
my star rating = 4.5

Although I enjoyed the first book I read by this author, it didn’t wow me, and now she’s in my top ten. That’s why I give most authors more than one chance. This series is my favorite of hers. Cowboys and military men? Sign me up!

29215588

Claire
(Hart University book #2)
by Abigail Strom
ratings on Goodreads = 196
average star rating = 3.58
my star rating = 4.5

Abigail Strom is one of the most versatile authors I’ve come across.  I would classify all of her stories as romance, but they type of romance ranges greatly. She has something for everyone.

39675176

Sleepover
by Serena Bell
ratings on Goodreads = 356
average star rating = 3.96
my star rating = 5

This story is listed as a standalone, but it is connected to some characters in this author’s books Do Over and Head Over Heels. They are all worth reading and will give you a plethora of feels.

36656606

The Hookup
(The Jordan Brothers book #1)
by Erin McCarthy
ratings on Goodreads = 565
average star rating = 3.95
my star rating = 5

While I’ve found this author’s Fast Track series to be hit and miss, this series is phenomenal.  Both books that have been published so far made me ugly cry…a lot!

27405534

Dirty For Me
(Motor City Royals book #1)
by Jackie Ashenden
ratings on Goodreads = 608
average star rating = 3.77
my star rating = 4.5

There’s no other way to say this but to just come out and say it straight…this author writes the most mind-blowing sex scenes.  And this book is no exception. The fire between the main characters is scorching!

318471681

The Reluctant Cowboy
(Morgan Ranch book #1)
by Kate Pearce
ratings on Goodreads = 722
average star rating = 4.16
my star rating = 4.5

The chemistry and characters in this story will keep you reading, the intrigue will have you wanting to read the whole series. This isn’t what I’d consider a cliff hangar, but there is an underlying mystery continues through all the books.

39684164

Atticus
by S. Bennett aka Saywer Bennett
ratings on Goodreads = 746
average star rating = 4.63
my star rating = 5

As much as I love this author’s hockey romance books (check out her Cold Fury Hockey series and her Arizona Vengeance series), this story really stuck with me.  Seriously, Atticus stole my heart.

To Be Honest
by Maggie Ann Martin
rating on Goodreads = 811
average star rating = 3.67
my star rating = 5

Amazing story, amazing writing. Another one that has stuck with me.  I even ended up getting a copy for my teenage niece for her birthday.  So good!

Bonus 5

The Scars Between Us by M.K. Schiller
964 Goodreads ratings with an average star rating of 4.17
my star rating = 5

The Last Chance Matinee by Mariah Stewart
(The Hudson Sisters book #1)
983 Goodreads ratings with an average star rating of 3.99
my star rating = 5

Harmless by Nicole Edwards
(Pier 70 book #4)
1,169 Goodreads ratings with an average star rating of 4.49
my star rating = 5

Bad News Cowboy by Maisey Yates
(Copper Ridge book #3)
1,189 Goodreads ratings with an average star rating of 3.96
my star rating = 5

It Started With a Kiss by Marina Adair
(Sequoia Lake book #1)
1,379 Goodreads ratings with an average star rating of 4.18
my star rating = 4.5

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.

I think it’s lovely that you promoted your sister’s book today. What a nice thing to do.
    My Top Ten Tuesday post.

  2. I’ve always wanted to read To Be Honest and then the Jordan Brothers series. ALSO, definitely going to have to look into your sisters book!

Aww, that’s sweet. FYI: The Big F by Maggie Ann Martin (author of To Be Honest) is also a great read. I hopped over to your blog and have to tell you, my daughter-in-law picked up a few of the Gossip Girl books a couple years ago while we were on vacation (before she was my DIL) and was hooked. I’ve never read any of them or seen the show! One of these days.
