Top Ten Tuesday: Places Mentioned in Books That I’d Like to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

I’m going to veer away from the obvious this week.  The topic is Places Mentioned in Book That I’d Like to Visit.  While I’m sure we all would love to see the great cities of the world…Rome, Paris, Cairo, Buenos Aires, Sydney, etc…I decided I would list the more day-to-day places in the books I read.  The small towns that seem like they would be amazing places to live.  So that’s what I’m listing today.  Some are fictional, some are based in reality, all seem lovely to me.

I could go on, so many authors write such wonderfully warm and quirky towns I want to visit them all.  But I’ll limit myself to the ten this week.

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.

  1. You and I did the opposite with this prompt. You zoomed in and I zoomed out. I love how you centered in on these small towns. Very fun!

What do you like most about small towns? I’m intrigued by your spin to this week’s prompt.

I’m not really sure. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit in a pretty big city in its own right, but Michigan has lovely small towns that all seem to have a charming Main Street that are great vacation spots. It’s just always stuck with me to want to live in such a place. I looked at your post and you have great taste. I love all those places, especially Honeydukes and Willy Wonka’s Factory.
