TTT: Favorite Books in the Last 10 Years

TTT-NEW

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic was suggested by Anne over at Head Full of Books and it’s a good one.  Favorite books released in the last 10 years.  But you gotta choose just one book for each year.  Trust me, this is harder than it seems at first.

I didn’t want to list books by the same author over and over, so sometimes that was my tie-breaker.  If the author of one of the books I was trying to choose between already had a favorite in another year I chose the author I didn’t have listed yet.  This list is in no way comprehensive.  I’m sure there are some books I’ve listed that weren’t my favorite for that year.  But so that I didn’t spend the whole entire week combing through my past reads (unfortunately, I haven’t been keeping track of my faves for ten years) I did the best with the limited time and resources I had.

Any way you look at it, it’s a list of some favorites of mine that maybe you haven’t tried yet.  Perhaps this will give you a nudge to try something new.

2019
Repeat by Kylie Scott

2018
To Be Honest by Maggie Ann Martin

2017
A List of Cages by Robin Roe

2016
Speechless (Pier 70 book 3) by Nicole Edwards

2015
Before Goodbye by Mimi Cross

2014
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

2013
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

2012
Grave Mercy by Robin LeFevers
Note: This was an amazing year for books! To name just a couple that were also published in 2012…Me Before You and Throne of Glass! It was hard choosing a favorite for sure.

2011
11/22/63 by Stephen King
(For some reason I never wrote a review on this book.  I’ll have to remedy that someday.)

2010
Cowgirls Don’t Cry by Lorelei James

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.

  1. I had a Sarah J Maas book on my list too, but it was Heir of Fire, not Crown of Midnight.

I think your list was lovely. Good job with it. And, yeah, I have to work not to talk about the same books over and over again with certain prompts, too.

  3. I really loved Crown of Midnight! And Repeat is high on my want list! 🙂

  4. I just added 11/22/63 to my TBR after seeing it on a few lists this week. Great list!

  5. Yay! I’m glad Grave Mercy made someone’s list ❤ I love that series! Tho Mortal Heart was my favorite from the series.

  6. Great list! I knew it’d be tough but it was a lot harder than I anticipated! 2017 was the most difficult year for me to choose from.

All the Light We Cannot See has been on my tbr for a very long time! I hope to read it soon. 🙂

  8. Such an interesting list! I own All The Light We Cannot See and I definitely need to start reading it this year around because I have this feeling that I’ll really adore it. I’m totally in love with the cover of A List of Cages — it just evokes some special emotion inside of me. Thanks for sharing! c:
