TTT: Book Characters as Besties

TTT-NEW

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.  There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

Sometimes when I see the topics for Top Ten Tuesday I get super excited.  Like this week’s them of Book Characters I’d Love to be Besties With, what a cool thing to think about.  I know I’ve often found myself thinking about meeting characters in real life while reading books, as I’m sure most avid readers have.  Yet, when I sit down to make my list, my mind goes blank.  I know I cannot be the only one this happens to.  So I’m going to try to just put the ideas down as they pop into my head and hope I can come up with ten.  As usual, when I see everyone else’s lists I’ll wonder why such and such characters didn’t make its way into my brain.

Savannah aka Savvy from To Be Honest by Maggie Ann Martin

Amun from The Darkest Secret (and others) by Gena Showalter

Beau from Ethan and Beau (and others) by Nicole Edwards

Max from Tempted (and others) by Rebecca Zanetti

Jessie from Cowgirls Don’t Cry by Lorelei James

John aka Preacher from Shelter Mountain (and others) by Robyn Carr

Derek from Love Like Ours by Melissa Foster

Nina Romano from Dockside (and others) by Susan Wiggs

Chris from The Body aka Stand By Me by Stephen King

Jumper from Castle Roogna by Piers Anthony

I did it! Ten characters I’d love to be have as friends.  I got lucky and books started popping into my head.  There are so, so, so many more.  I was trying my best not to to with the obvious (I’m looking at you Hermione Granger!), although I have no issue with others doing that.  But I was trying to exercise my foggy brain and not end up with a list that looked too much like anyone else’s. Who’s your book BFF?

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.

Chris from The Body would be an interesting person to hang out with!

I love the cover for Shelter Mountain. I know nothing about that book, but based on that and your description I think I’d like to visit it. 🙂

    My TTT.

  3. Gosh, my mind goes blank 98% of the time. No matter the topic I just lose my train of thought and instead am like, oh, look at that dust particle floating in the air–what was I doing? That being said, great picks! You’ve always reminded me I REALLY need to get to reading ‘To Be Honest’–that cover, swoon.

I love Chris! I didn’t think of him as I was doing my list but I would love to be his friend too!
    Great picks 🙂

  5. Great list! I’d totally want to be friends with Hermione.
