Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

I’ve only been participating in the Top Ten Tuesday meme for a year and a half, but apparently it turns 10 this week! That’s crazy! So Jana, the current host of TTT, left it up to the blogger how they wanted to celebrate this milestone.  Possibly re-doing an old topic, or doing a topic that we missed originally. I decided to look back to see what my very first Top Ten Tuesday post was and how I could play with it a little.

My first TTT post was back on January 29, 2019. The topic: Ten Most Recent Additions to My To-Read List. I decided to go through those 10 titles to see if I ever actually got around to reading any of them. You can see my original post here if you’re interested, but they’ll all be listed below. Plus, I’m listing another 10 that I most recently added to my TBR at the end.

First, here are the books out of those original 10 that I still haven’t read…

Unexpected (Silver Creek #1) by Maisey Yates
This is one of my favorite authors, but I still have not found the time to read her older stories. And here’s the kicker, I actually own this book already.

The Charmer in Chaps (Prince of Texas #1) by Julia London
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
I honestly don’t remember what initiated either of these books being added to my list, but they both still sound interesting to me. Yet, I’ve never read either of them.

Exiled (The Protector #1) by M.R. Merrick
Another one I’m not sure why I added to my list, but this one doesn’t even really pique my interest anymore. It’s always interesting to look back and try to remember your thought process.

A Taste of Sugar (Sugar, Georgia #3) by Marina Adair
Another author I love, and I read the first two books in this series and enjoyed them a lot. So why have I still not read this one???

And here are the books I did read. I linked my review to the title of each…

Hot to Touch (Brotherhood by Fire #1) by Jaci Burton
Need Me, Cowboy (Copper Ridge: Desire #6) by Maisey Yates
I Want You Back (Want You #1) by Lorelei James
Repeat by Kylie Scott
The Spitfire Girls by Soraya M. Lane

And here are my current 10 most recent additions…

Only Mostly Devastated by Sophie Gonzales
A Little Bit Wicked (The Wicked: Dark Knights at Bayside #1) by Melissa Foster
The Extraordinaries (Extraordinaries #1) by TJ Klune
The Christmas Table by Donna VanLiere
The Hero of Hope Springs (Gold Valley #10) by Maisey Yates

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren
Want You to Want Me (Want You #2) by Lorelei James
The Quantum Weirdness of the Almost-Kiss by Amy-Noelle Parks
High Heat (Hotshots #2) by Annabeth Albert
Take the Shot (Philadelphia Bulldogs #1) by Danica Flynn

I’m really looking forward to seeing what topics and spin on topics other bloggers are going to choose to do this week. And Happy Birthday to Top Ten Tuesday!

  1. I think you did well. Fifty/fifty is pretty good!

I have to admit, I was surprised to find I had read that many. Things tend to get added to my TBR to sit there for years on end. There are just too many books I want to read.

I hope you like the rest of these books if/when you read them. And like Deb said, 50% complete is great!

  3. I have so many books on my TBR list that I put on there years ago and still haven’t read. I think you did a good job. Great post!

  4. I just finished ARCs of Want You to Want Me and In a Holidaze. Both were good. You’re going to love them!

  5. I’m impressed that you read so many of your TBR books! Mine seem to languish on my lists for forever. Poor, neglected books 😦

    Happy TTT!

I think it was all in the timing. Trust me, I’ve had plenty on my list for years on end. I no longer take books to appointments with me because of the virus and being abundantly cautious due to my high risk. Sitting and waiting in the doctor’s office for 45 minutes today and all I could think about was all the wasted reading time!

  6. I’m terrible at reading my TBRs, so I think you did really well! I hope you enjoy the books you haven’t read yet.

I liked Repeat, and I can’t wait to read In a Holidaze. I hate to think how many TBR lists I made for these types of posts and how many books on them I actually didn’t read. lol

TBRs can be a hit or a miss, but they’re so fun to make! 😉 In a Holidaze is on my tbr, too. ❤
