Friday Favorites – 4/30/21

I paused for a moment before making my final decision on this week’s Friday Favorites. After all, can I call someone a favorite author if I’ve only read three of her books so far? I realized that when you’ve only read 3 books by an author and rated all 3 books 5-star reads, you absolutely can list the author as a favorite. At the very least, she’s a new favorite of mine.

My first introduction to Roan Parrish was back in August when I was invited to participate in a blog tour for her book Better Than People. I immediately knew I had to read more from her. As usual with me, I had so many other books on tap I never got around to delving into her library of published works.

A couple months later I was notified that her story The Remaking of Corbin Wale was free on Amazon for a limited time. Of course, I jumped on that opportunity. Yet again, didn’t get around to reading the book. It was often on my mind, though.

Lo and behold, I got another blog tour invite for one of her books. This time for Best Laid Plans, the next book in her Garnet Run series of which Better Than People was the first book. I enjoyed this story just as much as the first and knew I had to find the time for Corbin Wale.

You guys, the feels this author gives me! I really cannot get enough. Her writing makes me wish I had the time (and money) to read one book after another until I’ve read every one of her stories.

I finally made The Remaking of Corbin Wale a priority and that story is just magical. And, bonus for a Michigan girl like me, takes place in my home state. I haven’t posted my review of that story yet, but it is another 5-star read for sure.

I was lucky enough to come across another deal for her book In the Middle of Somewhere last week and will not let so much time go by without reading the story. It’s part of her series Middle of Somewhere and again takes place in Michigan. (The Garnet Run series does not.)

Very recently, through Ms. Parrish’s Instagram feed, I learned she also has a serial that’s being posted on Harlequin’s website that takes place in the Garnet Run world. And it’s free to read! I have to head over there to catch up. It’s an 8-part serial with a new chapter released each week and there are already 2 chapters up.

If you’re a fan of romance, especially if you’re a fan of LGBTQ romance, I highly recommend Roan Parrish. Three books in and I’m head over heels with her writing.
