NO LONGER CHRISTMAS BUT STILL A MIRACLE – Phoenix Pierce, Tarik Marx, and Mia Cantrell from A Million Tiny Pieces – Sometimes making a decision and jumping in with both feet is the only thing to do. Phoenix learns that firsthand after a special request from his wife and husband.

KICKING OFF THE NEW YEAR RIGHT – Trey Walker and Magnus Storm from Brantley Walker: Off the Books series – Although he’s insistent they keep their relationship on the DL, Trey decides to make the first move. That decision might just change things between him and Magnus forever.

I always find it a bit hard to rate and write a review for these types of collections. Nicole Edwards is a favorite author of mine and I love getting to “check in” on some favorite characters. Quite honestly, unless you’ve read the series these novellas are attached to, it would be best not to read this one. You won’t get as much out of the stories and there are some spoilers if you don’t already know how some of these stories end.  For those that love this author as I do, and who have read every one of her books, this is definitely worth your time.

In most cases in compilation books, I give a rating on each story. For this, I’m going to skip doing that. Some of these stories are very, very short and my review would read something like “very sweet and sexy” and that’s about all. Just know that I really enjoyed this book as a whole and I’m really hoping to read more from most of these relationships. (Listen, I don’t mean to sound cagey by saying “most” and other such words, but I’ve not kept it a secret that the character of Samantha has never been a favorite of mine, and that holds true in her story in this book. So it’s not the writing, per se, but the character.)

While all of the stories are great, I would really love to see more with Trey and Magnus from the Off the Books series. And really, what reading these short stories has done for me is make me want to do a complete re-read of this author’s work, from first to last published. (Yes, even Samantha’s books.) I guess that right there speaks volumes.

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.
