TTT: Most Recent Additions to My Book Collection

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is an interesting one. When considering the Most Recent Additions to My Book Collections, there are a lot of ways I can look at that question. I acquire a lot of books on my Kindle Paperwhite through different email lists I subscribe to that let me know what’s on sale, and even free, in genres that interest me. These aren’t necessarily books I’m seeking out. I may find a new-to-me author I fall in love with, or come across an author I already love who has a book on sale, through these lists. But that is a happy accident. I decided to narrow my response to books I’ve specifically looked for. That may be by requesting the book through NetGalley, the publisher, or the author. It may be by either purchasing or pre-ordering the book, usually through Amazon since my primary means of reading is my Paperwhite.

This is the first year in a long time that I haven’t received any books for Christmas. Although I don’t read physical paper books as much anymore (less and less as I need my reading glasses more and more), it’s still something I always got for gift giving holidays. It’s been a strange year, so it seems fitting. But, because of that fact, all the books I’m listing are eBooks this time. I’m grouping them by the means in which I acquired the book so they’re not in order of most recent, but these are the most recent 10 overall.

I had a preorder that was published today. That giddy excitement when I turned off the airplane mode on my ereader and watched it load. I love it!

  3. I keep seeing that Sink or Swim cover around and it’s making me want to read that book. I’ve only read one by her, and it wasn’t my favorite but I’m willing to give her another try since I think it might have just been that book.

I always try to give an author 2 or 3 tries, unless I really hate the first book I read by them. I’ve found that about 50% of the time I end up really liking the author’s other work. Of course, that means that 50% of the time I was right with my first impression. lol
