Spell the Month in Books – November 2022

My inspiration for my Spell the Month in Books posts came from Reviews from the Stacks, where they host a monthly linkup on the second Saturday of every month. Although I don’t follow their timeline of posting or really join any linkup, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I saw several different bloggers participating and that led me to their posts.

Now that all of the ghosts, ghouls, and witches have swept through my neighborhood, it’s time to relax into the month of Thanksgiving here in the states. Or, as I like to call it, pre-Christmas. Yes, I’m one of those people who LOVE Christmas. You can catch me singing Christmas songs all year long. But, while I’m itching to drag out all the decorations and make things festive, I don’t start my decorating until after Thanksgiving. Instead, I sit back and enjoy the calm before the storm and try to reflect the blessings in my life.

We took a trip to the cider mill on a beautiful day. Growing up in southeast Michigan, I didn’t quite realize not everyone did the cider mill trip in the fall. Living out of state in my 20s and missing this tradition, I don’t take it for granted now. (I also know some people call it the apple orchard and I’m sure there are other names.) Just driving around town running errands is beautiful, too. The trees are really showing off this year. I haven’t taken a lot of pictures because I tend to take my morning walk when it’s still dark, but I’ve gotten a few.

The books I picked for this month are all over the place, so there’s no real theme here. I’m still going with books I rated highly when I read them. You can click on the title of each book to be taken to my review. (Fair warning: a few only have very brief reviews on Goodreads.)

About Cheri

I'm the mom of two boys and wife to my high school sweetheart. Our oldest, Josh, is living at home while working and paying off student loans. Our youngest, Griffin recently left his active duty Army job and is now National Guard here at home. He moved back to Michigan with his wife Kirsten and our beautiful granddaughter Hazel. I work part time and try to fit as much reading into my life as possible.
