Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. There is a new topic each week for bloggers to join in with their own top ten. If you’re looking for some new or different book blogs to read, hop on over to her site and check out some of the links.
I had another year filled with wonderful books. I read over 20 books that I rated 5 stars. I also read over 200 books so that’s not as big of a percentage as you may think, but it’s still a pretty great year. I want to be clear that when I give a book a 5-star rating, it doesn’t mean it is perfect. I’m rating it based on my own personal experience with the story, how it made me feel, the emotions it evoked, the flow of the story, etc. There are professional reviewers who can go more into foreshadowing and grammar and the actual why certain things work or don’t work in a story. That’s not me. That’s not, in my opinion, most people who review on Goodreads and personal blogs.
That being said, I decided to give them all to you for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday wrap-up of my Favorite Books of 2022. First, I’ll list my top ten books that were published and that I read in 2022. Next, I’ll list my favorite books I read in 2022 that were published previously. Then I’ll give you the last few that were 5-star reads but didn’t make it to my top 20 overall list.
These are listed with my favorite first, but that can change as the wind blows depending on my mood. Let’s just say the last time I put them in “order” about a month ago (no 5-star reads in December!) this is how they fell.
If you click on the title, it’ll take you to my review.

You may notice I have some favorite authors and series. Last year I kept my list to just one title per author, but I figured I might as well show my love for my favorites. Of course, I have other favorite authors who either haven’t published this year or who I’ve already caught up with their back library so I didn’t have as much from them to read. I think it’s also obvious that I love a hockey romance! Hmmmm, could it be because my husband played hockey growing up and later in some rec leagues? Possibly.
Wow, you came up with a lot of answers to this. I didn’t even think to look at publication dates. 🙂

I’m one of those people who keep a spreadsheet of books so it was easy to do it that way. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered.
It sounds like I need to read that Bennett series! I’ve heard good things about it, but more than one book from it made your list.
What can I say? I love hockey romance. This is her 3rd team, so to speak, and each series spins off of the previous so her books are also a comfort read for me. I know the rhythm of her storytelling and I’ve gotten to know characters over time, some from just this series but a couple that have spanned more than that.
Book Lovers is one of my favorite reads of 2022, though it did not make it to my list this week.

My DIL just got that one for Christmas from a friend and I hope she enjoyed it as much as I did.
I’ve not read any of these, but glad to see you enjoyed them!

Everyone seems to love BOOK LOVERS. I need to give it a go and see what I think. I’m glad you enjoyed it and all these others.
Happy TTT!

Wow, I wish I could read 200 books a year. That’s impressive. I’m glad you found so many good ones, and happy 2023!
My number would be a lot less if I was reading any non-fiction or a lot of general fiction. Those aren’t genres I can relax into so they take me much longer to read. Plus, my kids are grown and I don’t work outside of the home. I didn’t read nearly so much back in the day.
