My inspiration for my Spell the Month in Books posts came from Reviews from the Stacks, where they host a monthly linkup on the second Saturday of every month. Although I don’t follow their timeline of posting or really join any linkup, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I saw several different bloggers participating and that led me to their posts.
April showers bring May flowers. That refrain has been going around and around in my head all week. We had some summer-like days early in April. I’d say probably a whole week of perfect weather. Of course, I was recuperating from my surgery and didn’t get any spring lawn cleanup done. Though I did get to sit outside in the sunshine and even started taking very slow walks to the corner and back during that time. Being in Michigan means we returned to some cold temps and lots of rain. It even snowed a bit, which is pretty standard for early spring these days. Still, the tulips and lilies are in bloom. The trees are waking up and turning green. I think in another week we’re supposed to get back into at least the 60s and 70s (Fahrenheit) again.
The kitchen remodel is pretty slow going. We decided we wanted to get the new oven range before doing the flooring, but it was hard for me to concentrate and make a decision for the first half of the month. Did you know, at least around here, it is very hard to find an electric range in stock so you can see it in person before buying? Very frustrating. I finally just took a gamble and ordered what I wanted, hoping it would live up to my expectations. I just got it last week, but so far so good.
There won’t be many pictures in this post. It’s a short month name so only a few book pictures. And I didn’t really take many pictures in April while I was recuperating. The titles I used are all books I greatly enjoyed and clicking on the title will take you to my review.
