Friday Favorites – 11/19/21

I’m starting to feel like my Friday Favorites posts should just be podcasts I enjoyed during the week. This week, it seemed like every podcast I listened to made me think, “I’m going to use this for my Friday Favorites post!” Then the next one would top it, and so on.

I was able to choose just one by picking the one that impacted me the most this week. There was one that had me cracking up and plenty that had me amused and/or fascinated, but this one hit close to home.

I know I’ve mentioned the Podcast Ologies with Alie Ward before. It’s one that I never miss an episode and I highly recommend to anyone who loves to learn. They are even starting to go through her back library and re-edit some of the episodes to shorten them and make them more kid friendly. (The full-length regular episodes do have swearing and such, but there are bleeped episodes available, too.) Last week she had and episode with pain psychologist, Dorology (Pain) with Dr. Rachel Zoffness. Let me tell you, as someone who has chronic pain, this episode had me crying and feeling hope. I definitely will be doing a re-listen to this one and jotting more notes down.

I’ve had a really rough couple of weeks with my pain, and I really needed to hear this episode. To know I’m not crazy and it’s not all in my head. But the head has so much to do with it, and can also help to ease the pain. So I’m on a mission to feel better with some tricks I learned from this podcast. I hope you get as much out of it as I did.
